Ready to welcome athletes from all over the world

With just few days to go before the opening of the World Masters Games 2025 Taipei & New Taipei City, the World Masters Games Park & Expo officially kicked off May 10. Running from May 10 to June 1 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, the expo is now welcoming the public for a first look.

Taipei Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-Hua explained that the World Masters Games Park is modelled on the concept of the Olympic Park and integrates five major venues: Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei Dome, Eslite Spectrum Songyan, Eslite Hotel, and Far Eastern Garden City. Together, they form a stage where international sports blend seamlessly into the urban landscape. With competition venues and neighbourhood streets, athleticism and cultural exchange, the aim is to make sport an intrinsic part of city life. New Taipei Deputy Mayor Chu, Tih-Ju said that this event showcases the collaboration of both Taipei and New Taipei City teams, including transportation, venues, volunteers, and cultural activities. We invite everyone to visit during the Games and immerse themselves in the passion and creativity of Taipei and New Taipei.

The WMG Executive Office outlined the park’s five themed warehouses, linking tournament operations, athlete registration, and public experiences:

  • Warehouse 1 serves as the media and operations hub, providing real-time information and logistical support.
  • Warehouse 2 is the athlete registration and accreditation centre, handling check-in, badge distribution, and welcome kits.
  • Warehouse 3 functions as an athlete service centre, offering tournament information, insurance support, and smart travel tools.
  • The Expo, debuting for the first time in WMG history, is centred around Warehouses 4 and 5, now open for full public participation.

Interactive Experiences Blending Innovation, Technology, and Sports

The exhibition will run for 23 days, with over 50 stage performances held in Warehouse 5. Acts will perform one after the other to create a summer sports carnival for the city. Top local performance groups will take the stage, offering spectacular shows that merge athleticism, culture, and art and giving audiences a close-up view of Taiwan’s unique talents.

Taipei Street Art Carnival

In the spirit of the 2025 Twin-City World Masters Games motto, “Sport Without Borders, Life Without Limits”, this year’s Taipei Street Art Carnival will be held earlier than usual, from May 23 to 25. Themed as a “Street PE Class,” the event embraces wide-ranging, cross-disciplinary innovation, bringing together Japanese street dance jump rope artists, Taiwan–France co-produced circus acts, and a wide range of Taiwanese street performers. By fusing street art with athletic spirit, the event showcases the multidimensional nature of street performance. The public is warmly invited to join and experience the ultimate excitement of sport and performance combined.
