The Open Masters Games Como Lake 2027, another high-profile IMGA sporting event, will take place from September 17 to 26, 2027, and is set to become a moment to shine for the provinces of Como, Lecco, and Varese. The event will showcase the region’s exceptional sports, landscape, and hospitality, offering a unique opportunity to the Masters community to discover this beautiful area.
The event was officially presented on 17 July 2027 at Palazzo Lombardia by Federica Picchi, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Lombardy Region for Sport and Youth, alongside the IMGA. The President of the IMGA Sergii Bubka shared his excitement for the event taking place in Lombardy: “ There is something special about this part of Italy and I’m sure it will leave once again a lasting impression on everyone who comes to enjoy the Games.”
Undersecretary Picchi emphasized, “The Open Masters Games Como Lake 2027 will not just be a sports competition. The Lombardy Region is fostering a collaborative effort between local authorities, federations, and the sports community to ensure sustained impact. This Committee marks a significant first step, creating a platform to stimulate shared growth. Sport, tourism, and territory will serve as three fundamental pillars for shaping Lombardy’s future.”
The 2027 event will be a milestone in both the national and international sports calendars, putting Como, Lecco, and Varese at the heart of global attention, with a high-level competitive format aimed at Masters athletes (30 and older)from across the world. The event promises to be a key attraction for both athletes and spectators alike.
Alessandro Fermi, Regional Minister for Universities, commented, “This is a fantastic opportunity, and as we prepare to host the Winter Olympics early next year, we are positioning ourselves to leverage that momentum for the future, especially with the Masters Games.”
