During day two of the coordination visit, The International Masters Games Association (IMGA) team held a meeting with the Organising Committee of the 2027 Kansai World Masters Games, focusing on some key areas like venues, promotion, and the welcome and farewell ceremonies that will shape the delivery of the Games.
World-Class Venues in Breathtaking Settings
Excitement is growing with the remarkable range of sports venues set to host athletes from around the globe. Kansai, with its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, offers facilities unlike anywhere else. From cutting-edge urban stadiums in Osaka and Kobe, serene mountain settings in Kyoto and Shiga, to white beaches with crystal-clear water in Fukui and Tokushima, the region promises participants not only top-quality competition venues but also an unforgettable cultural and scenic backdrop. These venues will provide athletes with the opportunity to perform in truly stunning surroundings.






Driving Global Promotion
Promotion of the 2027 Games was another priority on the agenda. Both sides emphasized the importance of raising international awareness, celebrating the spirit of masters sport, and attracting participants from all corners of the world.
Welcome and Farewell Ceremonies
The meeting also explored concepts for the Welcome and Farewell ceremonies, which are expected to be vibrant showcases of Japanese culture and hospitality. Plans include combining traditional elements with contemporary performance, all set to showcase Japan’s rich cultural heritage.
A Day of Collaboration and Connection
In addition to formal discussions, IMGA President Sergii Bubka met with employees of the Organising Committee, sharing his enthusiasm for the Games and recognizing their commitment to delivering a world-class event.
During fruitful discussions between President Sergii Bubka and the Chair of the Organising Committee Mr. Masayoshi Matsumoto, he reaffirmed the full support and shared vision for the success of the World Masters Games Kansai 2027. The day concluded with an excellent Japanese dinner with a spectacular evening view on the city lights of Osaka.
The Games promises to be both competitive and culturally enriching, set against some of the most spectacular venues and scenery in the world.
